MP backs biodiesel tax break campaign

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a project to keep tax breaks for companies who produce biodiesel.

The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.

Mr George said "a variety of small organizations in Cornwall currently earn money from utilized cooking oil".

He included: "In order to have the ability to get this kind of industry going it does need just a little bit of lift which is available in the kind of tax inevitable."

Biodiesel is a mix of standard diesel, rapeseed and vegetable oils.
